WHAA offers a girls softball program for ages 7-18.  Typically teams play competitors from both within and outside Hempfield Township.

Maxwell traveled to Blasco Field to take on the West Hempfield Pride and lost the contest to the Pride by the score of 13-7.  Raquel Monteparte led the way reaching base safely in all 4 of her at bats including a base clearing triple.  Megan Ambrose and Ashlee Fry also reached safely 3 times.  Kacey Wees went 3-3 including a perfect squeeze bunt scoring Fry.  The Pride are now 5-2 on the season.

The West Hempfield Pride woke up their bats against a very good Wyano team winning the contest 12-7.  The Pride pounded out 13 hits and had strong pitching and defense in the game.  Mickenzie Gongaware went 2-3, Ashlee Fry reached base 4 times, and Ashley Dancu reached base 3 times.  Katie Clayton turned in a web gem with a diving catch at 2nd base.  Kacey Wees struck out 9 of 10 batters she faced.  Raquel Monteparte also pitched 2 strong innings.  The Pride are now 4-2 on the season.

The West Hempfield Dirt Diamonds beat the West Newton Ladybugs 12-4 behind the great pithcing of Morgan Riggleman.  Morgan pitched all 7 innings and giving up only 1 earned run.  Lexxi Fada went 3-3 with a homerun, double, single and she drove in 5 runs.  Jenna Cumming went 3-3 with 4 RBI's and Sarah Frye went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI's.  Other Dirt Diamonds with hits included Corin Cirmella, Jaden Meyer, Sarah Soltis, & Riggleman.  The Dirt Diamonds are now 3-0 on the season.

The West Hempfield Pride traveled to Youngwood for the 2nd time in 3 days to take on the Gremlins.  The Pride dropped the contest 8-0.  The Pride loaded the bases in the 3rd inning and had runners in scoring position in 3 other innigs but failed to score a run.  The loss leaves the Pride at 3-2 on the season.

Saturday. May 5, 2012
The West Hempfield Lunachicks made their slow pitch debut traveling to Scottdale to play the Scottdale Moose.  The girls battled hard behind the strong pitching from Mekayla Dedo.  Cami Stephenson went 2-2 including a double and Gi Gi Palmiero and Dedo also went 2-2.  Riley "Fireball" Kapusta, Bella Tuttoilmondo, and Sami Hall also contributed hits for the Lunachicks.  Jordyn Vincze and Macey Kester sparked the defense with some really nice plays.  The Lunachicks will host Scottdale Fratto on Wednesday, May 9th.
A 20 minute rain delay in Youngwood could not quiet the West Hempfield Pride's victory over Youngwood.  Kacey Wees, Ashlee Fry, & Raquel Monteparte combined on the mound for the victory.  Monteparte worked out of a bases loaded , no out jam by throwing a runner out at the plate, catching a pop up and striking out a batter.  Wees added 8 strikeouts.  Both Wees and Monteparte were 5-5 and Fry was 4-4 including a triple.  Sydney Pierce and Alex Gonzlez both scored 3 runs for the Pride.  The Pride is now 3-1 in the season.

The West Hempfield Pride took on Sewickley in their home opneer at Blasco Field and came away with a 12-7 victory.  Raquel Monteparte, Ashlee Fry, & Kacey Wees all scored 3 runs and Jessica Hervol had 3 hits including a triple and drove in 4 runs.  Strong Pitching from Megan Ambrose, Wees, and Fry is what determined the outcome in the end.  The Pride are now 2-1 on the season.

The West Hempfield Dirt Diamonds beat the Wyano Pants Kickers today at Tillbrook.  Maria Doench was given the game ball for her single and bases loaded triple.  Sarah Soltis, Jaden Meyer, Meadow Uncapher, Lexxi Fada, Jenna Cumming, & Sarah Frye also added hits to help the Dirt Diamonds offense.  Uncapher got the mound win.  The Dirt Diamonds are now 2-0 and play again on Thursday, May 3rd when then travel to Jeannette,

Wednesday, April 25, 2012
The West Hempfield Dirt Diamonds defeated Jeanette 6-5 behind the strong pitching of Meadow Uncapher (14 k's) and Morgan Riggleman.  Leadoff batter Sarah Jo Soltis scored 3 times after doubling, tripling, and a walk.  Big hits from Kelsey Burtner, Maria Doench, & Jenna Cumming help contribute to the teams victory.  The Dirt Diamonds are now 1-0 on the season.
The West Hempfield Pride traveled to Scottdale to play the YMCA Spirit and dropped the contest 6-3.  It was a hard fought game between 2 good teams.  The Pride led 3-2 through 3 innings before the SPirit put up 4 runs in the 4th inning.  Jessica Hervol was 1-3 with an RBI and Raquel Monteparte scored a run and drove in another.  Kacey Wees struck out 8 batters.  The Pride is now 1-1 on the season and will host Fort Allen on Friday, April 28th at Blasco Field.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012
The West Hempfield Pride traveled to South Greensburg to open their season.  Despite very windy and cold conditions the Pride came away with a 15-1 victory.  Kacey Wees faced 11 batters in 3 innings and struck out 9 of them.  Megan Ambrose also pitched 3 strong innings with 4 strikeouts and surrendering only 1 run.  Alex Gonzalez was on base 4 times scoring 3 times.  Mickenzie Gongaware was 2-4 with 4 RBI's.  Call-ups Kelsi Terzolino and Mckayla Lander also scored in the contest.  The Pride is 1-0 on the season.
